Successful Dismissal of Emergency Room Physician by Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals

On August 25, 2014, shareholder Stephen T. Sigler successfully defended an Emergency Room Physician in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  The appellant had previously filed two separate lawsuits against various county employees and the defendant physician related to his medical care.  Shareholder Stephen Sigler, succeeded in a Motion to Dismiss the first lawsuit and a Motion for Summary Judgment in the second lawsuit.  Both actions were filed in United States District Court for the Southern District of California.  Plaintiff's subsequently attempted appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on the first action was dismissed following briefing by both sides and the ruling of a three-justice panel.
